Christmas cheer at The Langley Hotel in Buckinghamshire
a month ago
Yes, it's January 2021 - we know! But we wanted to throwback to a little Christmas cheer in 2020! The Langley Hotel in Buckinghamshire was magically transformed for Christmas by floral designer Paula Rooney & Luxury Wedding & Event Planner Planned for Perfection.
After opening in 2019 after a multi-million-pound refurbishment, the 18th century Manor House has been beautifully renovated into a luxurious country retreat. Located in 150 acres of beautiful parkland, the hotel is just a short drive from London and perfectly placed for guests looking for an exclusive and opulent hideaway and is an idyllic country retreat for a romantic getaway, a divine spa treat, or an exclusive use wedding venue.
Before the most recent lockdown, Paula and her team dressed the hotel for Christmas with a show-stopping 15-foot tree, decorated with fairy lights, dazzling baubles which mirrored the bright colours in the cascading reception fireplace arrangement and placed gifts under the tree in anticipation for a truly memorable Christmas.
Each room was decorated uniquely; from the green & plum colours of the drawing-room, the winter white arrangements on the mantelpiece in the lake room, to the cascading silver garland within the Cedar dining room, each room was individually dressed for Christmas to emphasise its own unique style.
With strict social distancing rules in place due to Covid-19, intimate celebrations were allowed briefly and the wine cellar at The Langley was the perfect location for a private evening of pre-Christmas fun! Champagne flowed and festive cocktails were served in The Churchill bar in front of a roaring log, watched by Sir Winston Churchill, whose bow tie was the inspiration behind the chosen festive decor colour!
The wine cellar was set up for dinner in traditional red and gold festive colours and teamed with tableware from White House Events and linen napkins from 88 Events. Each individual place setting had place names and menus designed by Ananya Cards.
A jewel-encrusted gingerbread house, brightly coloured to mirror the colours in the venue's artwork and festive décor was designed by Elizabeth’s Cake Emporium - a nod to a traditional Christmas gingerbread house, with Elizabeth’s unique flair!
Like many venues throughout the U.K., The Langley is currently closed due to lockdown rules but looks forward to welcoming guests and hosting events as soon as they are able too.
