Exquisite weddings with Sheraton Grand London Park Lane
2 months ago
Let your wedding day be the most wonderful day of your life at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane. Opened at the height of Art Deco splendour in 1927, the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane has long been the home of high society, celebrities and royalty. Nestled in the heart of Mayfair, the hotel was redesigned in 2016 to reflect both an elegant past and its present as a luxury destination for business and pleasure with decadent accents in chrome, wood and marble and sumptuous furnishings.

The historic hotel boasts many well-appointed reception rooms, most notably the Grade II listed Art Deco Ballroom featuring some of London’s finest period architecture. Accessed via an exclusive entrance, the Ballroom occupies three lower floors of the hotel and includes a separate staffed cloakroom, original cabaret stage and sprung maple dance floor. It’s a perfect way to spend your wedding day immersed in elegance with reception drinks served in the shimmering Silver Gallery or on the Balcony. The Ballroom below can accommodate up to 500 guests for dinner and dancing, or 1,200 for your wedding reception.

There are 305 rooms available, including 31 suites that have been augmented with contemporary styling. The bedrooms reflect the hotel’s Art Deco history while adding an elegant and contemporary touch. Guest rooms feature Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience Beds, designed for comfortable slumber with monochrome bathroom suites including Le Grand Bain Amenities in Deluxe and Superior rooms and Molton Brown accessories in all suites. Ideal for your wedding night, The Grand Suite is a statement in luxury with its own entrance lobby, master bedroom and bathroom, living and dining areas, study and guest WC. The main bathroom is an exceptional example of Art Deco design with original marble detailing and a large restored bathtub. The suite is positioned at one end of a corridor and can become a truly expansive three-bedroom, self-contained retreat.

Bridelux commercial director Anisha Vasani said: “We stayed in a luxury suite with a cosy lounge area and spectacular views overlooking Green Park. They made the experience special with beautiful balloon decorations and a bottle of champagne and cakes to greet us on arrival.
“The restaurant we ate in was Mercante, which has Art Deco touches with colourful bursts of sunlit yellow seating. It’s like a causal market feel experience combined with Mayfair fine dining. We had a variety of dishes such as Burrata with heirloom tomatoes and basil, mushroom truffle risotto, tuna tartare with cucumber granita and the rump of lamb with mashed potatoes, which was really soft and tender with beautiful flavours.”

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Mercante is the perfect space for meeting with family and friends. The Italian menu makes the most of seasonal market food and features daily specials. Hand-drawn illustrations on the walls reflect the history of the great Italian merchants with one wall taken up entirely by a detailed map of Italy.

At the heart of the hotel, the prestigious Palm Court conveys a rarefied atmosphere of style and elegance. Traditional English Afternoon Tea is served daily as well as a selection of dishes and cocktails. The Afternoon Tea is themed around the hotel’s history, titled as Nineteen Twen-Tea Afternoon Tea, pulling through flavours from when the hotel first opened in 1927. Featuring intrinsically designed pastries and delectable savoury treats inspired by the 1920s, with a contemporary twist, the Nineteen Twen-Tea transports you back in time to the prosperity of late 1920s London.

High class pub dining is available at on-site hostelry Smith & Whistle, which pairs its dishes with an in-house range of expertly crafted seasonal cocktails, as well as bottled beers sourced from British artisan brewers and a choice of wines from emerging English wineries. One of Mayfair’s most dog-friendly bars, Smith & Whistle offers a unique ‘dogtail’ menu, featuring Poochie Coladas and Pawsecco for four-legged guests.

Sheraton is proud to participate in the industry’s award-winning loyalty program, Marriott Bonvoy, featuring world-class benefits, endless experiences at more than 7,000 hotels.
