What a whirlwind of a year it has been for the events industry, and with the government regulations ever-changing we have all had to rethink how the event industry is going to survive going forward.
With a lot of research and a brilliant team, we were determined to keep our Atelier show alive in some way or form. That’s when the development of our new bespoke virtual platform, 'Being There' was imagined and ultimately brought to life.
The debut of Being There was our flagship wedding show, the Bridelux Atelier - Virtual Edition. As with all things virtual, users are always going to be a bit skeptical and we were prepared for fluctuations in footfall and engagement levels, after all, Rome wasn’t built in a day. All things considered, it was a hit!
So, what were our key learnings? Virtual shows can’t be produced the same way as physical shows - there are limitations with time, space, and personal contact. It is a challenging time for the event industry, and the world is relying so heavily on virtual alternatives meaning you have to work much harder to create that personal connection. We can't make eye contact on the show floor anymore, so let's start thinking out of the box.
As you would plan out your floor space and the attendee's journey on the show floor, you should do so for a virtual event too, the same core elements just in a different format and flow. It sounds daunting, but with a little guidance, perseverance, and creativity you’ll wonder why you hadn’t been doing it like this all along! How can you portray your space virtually, and get users to interact with you? The answer is content creation - a lot of it! The key metric for success is engagement, it’s the most important factor to consider when creating content. Creating eye-catching content has never been easier, with a wide array of creatives a click of the button away, and we’re here to help. Investing in content creation is simultaneously beneficial. It enables a successful online event and aids in boosting your online brand presence (which is more important now than ever before).
Right, so we’ve outlined the core differences between physical and virtual events, what’s next? How do you develop a successful online event that’s engaging, creates conversation and conversion? The best place is to start with the right platform. With so many new virtual event service providers and apps coming to market, how do you know which is best for your event? The platform should be user-friendly, customisable to suit any style of event and most of all allow for personalisation to reflect you (or your client) and the brand. These are all the things we wanted and needed for the Bridelux Atelier. So, we created it! With Being There, you will always be in the room.
Being There is super versatile. From a mainstage with live or prerecorded content to individual rooms dedicated to separate brands or different aspects of your event, the world is your oyster. It allows you to showcase who you are as a brand, it gives you a chance to put a face to your brand, and most importantly engage with your audience in multiple ways.
Compared to other platforms it’s affordable, and ideal for small to medium-scale businesses whether you're hosting hybrid or completely virtual events from exhibitions, conferences, and meetings to weddings and socials. It is a scalable option priced by the hour and/or by the number of attendees.
