Calisto Flowers | London“Calisto Flowers is and artistic studio specialising in bespoke floral designs, using the seasons to interpret the language of flowers.”
My name is Christina and my flower journey began 13 years ago on a quaint little flower stall in the heart of Marylebone, London. It was there when I realised that a had a real passion for flowers. My role was to condition flowers and prepare them for display whilst watching the florists create beautiful arrangements for our customers. It was watching this floral magic that prompted me to train as a florist myself. I studied for two years at Capel Manner College and qualified with a City of Guilds Distinction in Floristry.
From there I began working in local, high street flower shops to build on my experience and it wasn’t long before I landed my first job at the famous Jane Packer Flowers which was coincidently located right around the corner from the flower stall where it all began.
I spent a few years here before I felt that I had got everything I could from my role and wanted more. I applied for a position at McQueens Flowers, which had been my dream ever since joining the floral world, and two weeks later I was hired. I started out working at their in-house florist shop in Claridges Hotel, Mayfair. It was there where I arranged flowers for the likes of Dame Joan Collins, Mariah Carey, and Naomi Campbell - to name a few!
From here I decided to explore another side of floristry and joined the McQueens Contracts team; I was appointed a handful of clients to take care of personally on a weekly basis. Some of these clients included The Mandarin Oriental hotel in Knightsbridge and a handful of private members clubs on Berkeley Square. Fast forward to now, living between London and Shropshire with my husband Mark and a wealth of experience I decided to launch my very own business Calisto Flowers.

Calisto is a variant of the Greek ‘Callisto’ meaning “most beautiful” in Ancient Greek.
Origin and Meaning: The name Callisto is a girl's name best known as one of the moons of Jupiter. Callisto was a nymph turned into a bear by Hera after Zeus seduced her. I thought this name to be perfect as Calisto Flowers is about the most beautiful things in life; nature and all its offerings.
